Victoria Falls Accommodation

Vic Falls Accommodation in Zambia and Zimbabwe

One of the most common questions we get is whether to stay on the Zimbabwean or the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and it can get confusing. The first thing you need to know is that both countries offer amazing accommodation options and both are safe to visit so, really, there is little difference. The second thing you need to know is that there are two towns on either side of Victoria Falls: in Zimbabwe the town is called Victoria Falls and it is adjacent to the actual waterfalls; in Zambia the town is called Livingstone and it is about 15km upstream from the falls.

With more vantage points of the main cataracts, the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls is generally considered to be better for viewing, while the Zambian side has some exciting angles and unique viewing positions. The town of Victoria Falls, being within walking distance of the falls, has several hotels offering bed and breakfast accommodation; in Zambia, the emphasis is on all-inclusive safari lodge accommodation spread along the Zambezi River. No matter which side you stay on, luxury accommodation options abound. From large historic hotels to smaller safari lodges, there's something for everyone.

Take a look at some of the spectacular accommodation options in both Zambia and Zimbabwe. We recommend contacting us for the latest and most accurate travel advice.
