| With over 250 members the African Travel and Tourism Association (ATTA) is Europe’s largest trade Association promoting Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. ATTA acts as the focal reference between its members in Africa and the UK travel industry. Our members encompass all aspects of tourism. In Africa they include hotels, lodges, camps, tourist boards, airlines, tour and ground operators, publications. In the UK the majority of tour operators and representation companies handling Africa complete the membership. Through our growing “Media Club" comprising 100 of the UK’s most influential travel journalists drawn from all sections of the UK media, ATTA acts as the interface between the UK travel media and its membership. The prime role of the Association is to channel information and breaking news to it's wide membership through its sophisticated web distribution email service ATTAK. The national Tourist Boards, the media, the British Foreign Office and the membership itself use this distribution facility, to keep the industry informed. Response time is fast and information is quickly distributed. ATTAK enables members throughout Africa and the UK to keep abreast of the rapidly changing affairs of tourism. ATTA offers its members support in tourism-related fields through its advisory panel made up of the leading figures in tropical medicine, the law, travel insurance and crisis management. The wealth of experience that these experts hold is available to the members by telephone or email. ATTA is a company limited by guarantee, run by the Chief Executive who reports to the Board of Directors drawn from all sectors of the UK tourist industry. ATTA’s rapidly growing membership in Africa is recognised by our African Chapter initiative. ATTA has directors in both East and Southern Africa to represent and co–ordinate the interests of our African-based membership. |
