Consisting of 35 luxurious villas, this lodge draws inspiration from the centuries-old Arab dhow sailing vessel, the primary means of transport along the coast. Coconut palm thatched roofs have the same distinctive triangular shape of the dhow sail and the whitewashed walls reflect the sun, making it appear from a distance as if the resort itself is sailing away. Let's hope it doesn't, because if Azanzi Beach Resort sails off into the Zanzibar sunset, potential guests will miss out on the eight magnificent sea-view guest suites in the main building, each with their own private balcony and spacious bathroom. The dining room, lounge and main bar are all housed in the main building on different levels each with a breathtaking sea-view and also with a view of the sparkling swimming pool below. In addition there are twelve free standing private garden suites, each with its own bathroom, porch and garden. Take the ultimate relaxing shower in your private garden shower, with the Zanzibar sun warming your back! There are also nine villas and six deluxe villas.
There are a wide array of water activities to choose from at Sunset Bay. Hop aboard a boat trip, go snorkelling or diving among colourful coral reefs or partake in a multitude of sports and activities. But you came here for a holiday so you are more than entitled to just lie on the beach, wallow in the sea and do absolutely nothing!
