Take a front row seat at Rufiji River Camp as the animal actors in the African drama take their places at the riverside below you. From your vantage point high on the bank, seated on your own private balcony, you won't miss a single minute of the action and after the first act is over another group of players is sure to take the stage as they head to the water to drink. With only 20 safari style tents, Rufiji River Camp offers exclusivity and style in the vast and amazing Selous Game Reserve. Each tent has an exceptional view of the river where resident hippo play and lazy crocodiles sun themselves on the sandbanks. Selous Game Reserve has over 800, 000 mammals within it's borders and you can be sure that a fair number of these will stroll casually past your camp on their way down to the waters edge, but if the pickings are slim the camp offers a variety of different ways of going in search of some action. The camp is also eco-friendly making use of solar power and other eco-friendly options.
Activities at Rufiji
Activities at Rufiji include river boat safaris, game drives and guided walks. Boat safaris explore the nearby lakes, whilst game drives can venture further. Whole-day drives are often possible, and you'll take with you a picnic for a leisurely lunch in the bush. The nearby forest is best explored on foot; your guide will lead you along shady paths in search of blue samango and black-and-white colobus. But the highlight of any stay has got to be the opportunity to fly-camp out in the bush away from it all for a night or even two!
