Situated within the 4000 acre Isibindi Eco-Reserve, Isibindi Lodge is set amongst Buffalo Thorn Trees and dolorite boulders and overlooks the bush below. With habitats ranging from montane grassland and valley thornveld to riverine forest, the diverse landscape provides refuge and home to a diversity of indigenous wildlife. Each hut is completely secluded and large French doors are the window to which you will waken, seeing the world as it was meant to be by the soft early morning light. From your private verandah you need only sit still to witness wildlife encounters, from the smallest bird to the largest antelope.
There is a large swimming pool with it's own spectacular view, a homely lounge with a massive stone fireplace for those cold evenings and bad weather days. There is also a library stocked with historical books for you to brush up on the areas rich history and a unique bar carved out of a thorn tree where guests gather in the evenings to recall the days safari or Battlefield tour. After a game walk or a historical battlefield tour to work up an appetite, Isibindi Lodge produces fine cuisine with a unique South African flair. At night you can have your drinks around a huge bonfire while waiting for your meal to be served.
Isibindi Zulu Lodge is situated within the 4000 acre Isibindi Eco-Reserve which offers diverse habitats ranging from montane grassland and valley thornveld to riverine forests. The reserve is home to abundant indigenous game, morning and evening game drives are offered and there is excellent bird watching. It is also quite safe to walk or take a picnic along one of the meandering river beds and view Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and many more.
