Timamoon comprises six ‘lodges’ each decorated with an eclectic mix of well-travelled artifacts spanning south-east Asia, east Africa and Morocco. With fireplaces, enormous baths overlooking the valley and rich-coloured drapes, the romance will make your stomach swoop. Four of the suites have private pools that spill into the valley below. The restaurant is built on stilts Indonesian-style with layered thatch, bamboo roll-up blinds and wrap-around decks; banana trees swish in the breeze like elephants at a waterhole.
Food is exotic as befits the ambience and the Asian, French and local influences have been combined with care and attention to detail. After a few hours, the lethargy of romance will have set in and gentle walks, romantic dinners, aromatherapy massages and riverside picnics are the type of activity that may well appeal to you most. Proclaiming itself to be the most seductive lodge on the planet, Timamoon, soaring high above the Sabie River in the Kruger Surrounds and Panorama Route area is indeed a romantic seclusion with views that came out of a Disney animation.
