Overview

At Rhino Africa, we believe that tourism to Africa doesn't need to leave a heavy carbon footprint, but rather, when done correctly, it can help uplift communities, conserve wildlife and alleviate poverty. Due to the long haul nature of Africa as a destination, tourism to the continent needs to be sustainable. Sustainable tourism is not just about being green - it’s about ensuring a long term future for African tourism. With that in mind we've partnered with the Heritage Environmental Management Company in order to create an ethos of environmental responsibility at Rhino Africa. Read more about our Going Green policy and our sustainable approach to tourism.

Responsible tourism doesn't necessarily mean roughing it. We've recreate one of our most popular itineraries below with a focus on properties with the highest Heritage Accreditation or those that we believe stand out for their exceptional environmental awareness and social responsibility programmes. You'll spend a full day in Cape Town with African Impact on one of their volunteer projects and a full day in Livingstone, Zambia, volunteering on a community project near the Victoria Falls.

The hotels and lodges in this tour not only make an effort to be green but are also passionate about social development. We will also offset  the carbon footprint of your travels by donating a percentage of our profits to community upliftment and wildlife conservation.
