Shamwari Lobengula Lodge offers a magical experience with their traditional African elegance, luxurious amenities and tranquil surrounds. Tucked deep in the valley bushveld, this thatched ethnically decorated lodge offers guests an exclusive getaway.
The five luxury rooms are all en-suite, with air-conditioning and heating, whilst the Chief suite boasts a large private lounge with fireplace and private pool. Lobengula Lodge is famous for lavish meals that are served either on the main deck or in the outside Boma. A selection of fine South African wines from its cellar and well-trained staff ensure a high quality of service and satisfaction. After morning game drives guests can relax, swim or enjoy a drink at the pool bar. The magnificent wooden deck overlooking the dense African bush is beautifully appointed for meals or mystical African storytelling in front of the fireplace. There is also a gym for your convenience and an exclusive spa where you can indulge your senses with a massage or special treatments.
Game drives at Shamwari are definitely the highlight of your safari experience and close encounters with the Big Five will create lasting memories. Lobengula Lodge is situated on the 25,000 hectare Shamwari Private Game Reserve along the famous Garden Route in the Eastern Cape.
Shamwari is in a malaria free area and has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for five consecutive years. Guests also have the opportunity to visit the Born Free Environmental Education Centre after a morning game drive. The Born Free Foundation and Shamwari Game Reserve aim to promote the conservation of species and protection of habitat while always maintaining a compassionate approach to the welfare of animals. An average of 750 school children, mainly from disadvantaged communities, attend the education programme at the centre on a monthly basis.
