Overview

This 10-day trip has it all - three countries, beaches, one of the seven wonders of the natural world, magnificent African sunrises and a luxury safari in wild Botswana.

Day 1-5: The Cape Grace, Cape Town

On your arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met by a representative from Rhino Africa who will transfer you to the Cape Grace. This transfer will take approximately 20 minutes.

Cape Town is one of the most interesting, diverse and vibrant cities in Africa. Among the endless array of activities that Cape Town offers, you can explore the city centre, Robben Island or take a cable car up Table Mountain. Alternatively, Rhino Africa can organise private tours, car hire and day trips for you to the surrounding areas such as the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch Winelands or the Cape Peninsula.

There is no shortage of things to see and do in Cape Town, check out our Cape Town Day Tours. Your four days here are sure to fly by. Speaking of flying, your first flight will take you from Cape Town to Johannesburg and then on to Livingstone Airport.

Day 5-7: The Royal Livingstone Hotel, Victoria Falls

Upon arrival at Livingstone International Airport, you will be met by a Rhino Africa representative. You will arrive at the breathtaking Royal Livingstone for two indulgent nights taking in the sights and adventures of the Victoria Falls.

The Royal Livingstone Hotel is located within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, a World Heritage Site overlooking the mighty Victoria Falls. From the forested banks of the Zambezi River in front of the Hotel, guests may admire the fine spray of the Victoria Falls, which rises like a cloud across the bushveld, throwing rainbows hundreds of feet in the air. Named after the intrepid explorer Dr David Livingstone, the Royal Livingstone Hotel is a serene and gracious refuge from the heat of the African sun and will immerse you in the romance and style of a bygone era. In its cool lounges and shaded verandas, you will encounter the elegance and luxury of an earlier, more courteous age.

Day 7 to 10: Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, Chobe

From the splendour of the Victoria Falls, it's on to the thrill of a luxury safari in Chobe, which is one of the best game reserves in the world. It is certainly our favourite place to see elephant.

You'll be transferred by road from the Royal Livingstone Hotel to Chobe, to spend 3 nights at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero in Botswana. Chobe Chilwero is located on a gentle hill overlooking the Chobe River and Sedudu Island in Northern Botswana. With gorgeous, breathtaking vistas as a backdrop, you'll come face-to-face with an abundance of wildlife, and some of the most spectacular sunsets. Relax in one of the 15 luxurious thatched cottages, with ensuite, sunken handcrafted baths, indoor and outdoor showers, private gardens and terraces overlooking the magnificent Chobe River. There is also a library, curio shop and a communications centre.

Sumptuous meals are lovingly prepared by the dedicated culinary staff - a delicious, eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies - are all topped off by a sampling of vintage wines and spirits from the wine cellar. High teas are often served on the lawn under the shade of the trees. There's also an indulgent spa for a spot of afternoon pampering.

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast on your last morning, you will be transferred back to Livingstone Airport to catch your flight to Johannesburg, from there you can return home or fly to another African destination, speak to us about extending your tour.

The Victoria Falls Hotel is set in The Victoria Falls National Park with a private path to the Victoria Falls. The elegant lounges offer serenity and seclusion. The corridors reflect all the past glories of the Empire and the suites and rooms are superbly furnished in Edwardian-style. The Courtyard entrance to the hotel overlooks lily ponds, lush flowering shrubs and palm trees. Traditional high tea is served every afternoon on the Terrace that has a spectacular view onto the Victoria Falls Bridge and Gorge.

Meals are a real occasion here. The Livingstone Room serves elegant dinner and dancing, with a classic á la Carte menu. Remember that jacket and tie are essential for gentlemen and smart cocktail wear for ladies! The Jungle Junction serves breakfast and dinner buffets with Shangaan dancers and local choirs as entertainment every night. Stanley's Terrace serves á la Carte lunch, afternoon tea, sundowners, light dinner daily, buffet breakfast and table d´hôte menu.

Day 7-10: Chobe Game Lodge, Chobe

From the splendour of the Victoria Falls, it's on to the thrill of a luxury safari in Chobe, which is one of the best game reserves in the world. It is certainly our favourite place to see elephants.

You'll be transferred by road from the Victoria Falls Hotel to Chobe, to spend 3 nights at Chobe Game Lodge in Botswana. Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent accommodation situated inside the Chobe National Park. Throughout graceful high arches, quarry tiled floors and barrel vaulted ceilings create an atmosphere of cool tranquillity. All 46 rooms are tastefully furnished, each room with hand crafted Rhodesian teak furniture and walls decorated with original African carvings and paintings. The lodge can accommodate up to 100 people in total luxury. Facilities within the lodge include a well-stocked curio shop and wildlife reference library and a stylish Tshwene bar with full-sized Victorian pool tables overlooking the floodplains.

There are 2 restaurants: The Table d'Hote Restaurant offers a range of International and local dishes, the buffet offers an impressive choice of barbeque meats, salads and range of dishes. set in a tranquil garden where resident warthogs can often be found grazing. The lodge was made famous when Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor chose it as the venue for one of their weddings!

You'll be transferred by road from the Victoria Falls Hotel to Chobe, to spend 3 nights at Chobe Marina Lodge in Botswana. Chobe Marina Lodge is located in the North-Eastern corner of Botswana where the four African nations of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia converge. Kasane is a bustling little town offering access to the Chobe National Park. As there are no boundary fences between the park and the village, game such as elephant and hippo can frequently be seen wandering down the road. Chobe Marina Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of Africa.Two restaurants and wonderful wooden decks over the river make this hotel truly world-class. Accommodation is provided in thatched studios, apartments, chalets and suites, with private lounges and modern comforts such as air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite TV, telephones and mini bars.
