Cape Point Full Day Tour

Explore the Cape Peninsula with a guided tour

Overview

Embark on an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Jutting out into the ocean, this rugged and rocky peninsula has become synonymous with the Cape of Storms since the explorer, Barolotmeu Dias, first set his sights on it in 1488. In those days, sailors saw Cape Point as both a useful landmark and a terrifying hazard depending on the time of day and the weather. No longer feared, Cape Point has become a popular attraction. Home to sweeping vistas, spectacular landscapes, and rich fauna and flora, there's no denying the beauty of this historic land formation.

Looking east, travellers can marvel at False Bay and the long, swooping curve that it forms on the southern Cape coastline which is dotted with crags and cliffs, sandy beaches, and turquoise waters.  At certain times of the year, the icy Atlantic Ocean, carrying the Benguela current, collides with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, fynbos-littered hiking trails, and a collection of historic and picturesque coastal villages visited en-route are all part of our Cape Point Tour package.

Circle the peninsula en route to Cape Point

Explore the beautiful Cape Peninsula with a guide who loves the region, knows his history and won’t get lost! First, you visit the stunning Clifton and Camps Bay beaches and head towards Hout Bay with an optional boat trip to Seal Island.

Wind over Chapman’s Peak Drive, a spectacular scenic route with fynbos-covered mountain on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Visit the beautiful Cape Point Nature Reserve and marvel at the dramatic Cape of Good Hope. On the other side of the peninsula, you stop off at Boulders Beach and its fascinating penguin colony.

After the historic naval village of Simon's Town we break for lunch and then wind through the gracious Constantia Valley en route to the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, to cap a rather marvellous day out.

Includes and excludes

Entrance to Cape Nature Reserve and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are included. Food, beverages, Funicular, Boulders (Penguins) and Seal Colony boat trip are excluded.

Handy tip:

Keep a warm jumper with you at all times. Cape Town is known to have four seasons in one day!

Please note:
The drive via Chapman’s Peak pass is subject to the road being open. Should this not be the case we will take the alternate route via Constantia Nek and Ou Kaapse Weg. An optional half day tour is available, but with so much to see and enjoy it isn’t advised.

Although a half day tour is available at R570 per person, we highly recommend the full day tour.
