Day 1: Johannesburg - Maputo

Fly from O R Tambo International in Johannesburg, South Africa to Mavalane International Airport in Maputo, Mozambique. Transfer to the Polana Hotel. With its subtropical cimate, beautiful sheltered bay and blend of Portuguese architecture, African spontaneity and Indo/Portuguese/African cuisine, Maputo has retained much of its colonial mystique. Here nightclubs swing to samba rhythms till the break of dawn and a host of kiosks serve piri-piri chicken barbecued on the spot, matapas, fried potato chips and piping hot prawns. Enjoy one night in this amazing and sometimes chaotic capital city staying at the famous Polana Hotel, don't miss out on the prawns!

Day 2 - 4 : Maputo - Vilanculos

Fly from Maputo to Vilanculos and transfer by air to Azura, maybe they will send their own private helicopter to pick you up! The waters of the Mozambique coast are warm and nutrient rich, so it's understandable that the swimming, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling are amazing. Spend time lazing on the beach or underwater, it's all up to you.

Day 4 - 7: Vilanculos - Pemba - Johannesburg

Transfer by air to Pemba and then take a further 30 minute air transfer to the wonderful Medjumbe Private Island. Here you will experience seclusion, privacy and romance. There is nothing quite like staying on an island and being pampered all day long. So whether you choose to indulge in spa treatments and lazy days in a hammock, or you choose to swim, snorkel and dive, your stay here will be a very memorable one. On your final day you will fly directly from Pemba back to Johannesburg, from where you can fly home or onwards to another amazing African safari destination.
