Katherine's Favourite African Tour

Katherine has worked at some of the highlights and hotspots of Africa, this tour combines them in a comprehensive tour.

This trip really does give you the opportunity to explore and visit what we believe to be the essential hotspots of Africa. Starting of in Victoria Falls and Chobe NationaL Park, marvel at the huge herds of elephants that come down to the Chobe National Park to drink from the Chobe River. This safari combines and contrasts exceptionally well with the Londolozi Safari later on in your itinerary. At Londolozi the focus is on leopards and lions in the world famous and world reknown Sabi Sands Game Reserve. So as to avoid ' safari overload' we've split the two safari into two parts and punctuated the stay with 5 nights in Cape Town. This gives you a chance to recharge the batteries, catch up on some retail therapy, spa treatments, restaurants, winetasting and city living.

• Chobe is only 2 hours drive from Victoria Falls and its here that you will find large herds of elephants.
  
• Cape Town is South Africa's cosmopolitan city. Five nights in Cape Town gives you a chance to recharge your batteries and catch up on the finer things in life. Staying at the Cape Grace has you centrally located close to shops and restaurants.
  
• Londolozi is your final stop and we almost guarantee it will be the highlight of your stay. Big Five Viewing in the luxury of a beautiful safari camp adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Bush Walks, Night Game Drives and Off Road Driving.

Day 1 - 3 : Livingstone

On arrival at Johannesburg Airport you will catch a flight to Livingstone Airport. This flight takes about 2 hours. On arrival at Livingstone Airport you will be transfered from the airport to The Royal Livingstone Hotel. Situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, this hotel really does have a spectacular location. Staying here gives you unlimited access to the Mosi-ao -Tunya National Park and the Victoria Falls. From the viewing deck overlooking the Zambezi River you can see the spray bellowing from the Falls in the distance.

There are a wide variety of activities to enjoy in Victoria Falls, and depending on how adventurous you are feeling we recommend that you speak to your Rhino Africa Travel Consultant about prebooking your activity for you.

Day 3 - 5 : Chobe National Park

A final morning to enjoy at The Royal Livingstone before being transfered by road to Chobe Chilwero in Kasane - Botswana. This transfer takes about 2 hours including Immigration Formalities.

Once you have checked into Chobe Chilwero you will enjoy lunch and after which your ranger will meet you and explain your activity options. Activities at Chobe Chilwero vary between Boat Cruises on the Chobe River and the Game Drives in the Chobe National Park.

You will have a total of 2 nights at Chobe Chilwero giving you plenty of time to explore this beautiful destination. The area is reknown for its large herds of elephants and buffalos, who come down to the Chobe River to drink.

Day 5 - 10 : Cape Town

Spend your final morning on safari in the Chobe National Park before heading back to Livingstone Airport and your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg you will connect with a flight to Cape Town. Once you have arrived in Cape Town you will be met by a representative from Rhino Tripping and transferred by road to the Cape Grace.

The Cape Grace is located in the Cape Town Waterfront and is perfectly located to explore Cape Town and the surrounding areas. Cape Town is a cosmopolitan city, full of great restaurants, museums, and many things to see and do.

No activities have been included in this package during your time in Cape Town. Speak to your Rhino Africa Consultant about adding in your activities to suit your individual needs and requirements. This may include private or scheduled day tours to Cape Point, The Cape Peninsula, The Winelands or Robben Island - or simply a car hire, which allows you the freedom to explore Cape Town at your own pace.

Day 10 - 13 : Londolozi Safari

This morning you will be collected from the Cape Grace and transferred to the Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.

On arrival at Johannesburg Airport you will be met by a representative from Federal Air. You will catch their scheduled charter flight from Johannesburg Airport to Londolozi Airport. On arrival at Johannesburg Airport you will be met by your ranger and transfered to Londolozi Tree Camp.

Londolozi Tree Camp has recently been refurbished and is the shining stone in the Londolozi Crown. A beautiful camp with only 6 rooms this luxury camp offers exclusivity and a 6 star safari experience.

Lunch awaits you on your arrival. After lunch a chance to relax and settle into the camp.

You will meet your other guests and ranger at teatime and shortly afterwards depart on your afternoon and evening gamedrive. Londolozi is known the world over for its excellant Leopard sightings and it was here that the famous photographer Lex Hes photographed the book ' The Leopards of Londolozi;

At Sunset the ranger will find a scenic spot in the bush to ' pull over' and stop in order to serve Sundowner Cocktail. Once the sun has set you will continue on your safari using a powerful spotlight. This spotlight allows you to see the nocturnal animals. After game drive you will return to the lodge for dinner.

The following morning you will be woken up early and meet your ranger for your early morning game drive. You will return for breakfast at the camp at about 10h00. After breakfast you will have the opportunity to enjoy a bush walk where you will concentrate on the smaller birds, plants and insects. After lunch you return to the camp giving you a chance to relax and unwind in the privacy of your suite.

Lunch is served after which the day and the daily itinerary simply repeat themselves.

Day 13 : Day of Departure

This morning you will enjoy a final morning on safari at Londolozi before checking out. You will be transfered back to the airstrip to catch a flight to Johannesburg and your onward travel arrangements.
