Fish River Canyon and Lüderitzbucht. Depart Wolwedans after breakfast and fly straight to the Canyon. Transfer to the Canyon viewpoint where coffee/tea and snacks will be offered. Continue south to the Orange River (border to South Africa) and enjoy a bird-eyes-view of the world’s second largest Canyon before heading west and towards Lüderitzbucht. Take a guided tour to the ghost town of Kolmanskop, followed by lunch and a city tour.
The coastal town of
Lüderitz is a small enclave within the Sperrgebiet (restricted Diamond Area) and has an impressive collection of historical German-style buildings, which were erected during the diamond rush. The scenic return flight to Wolwedans can only be labeled spectacular. From Lüderitz you fly north along the Diamond Coast and over Spencer Bay and Mercury Island. From there fly along the Lange Wand where massive dunes just seem to grow out of the sea before heading east towards Sossusvlei, Namibia’s main tourist attraction. Having observed the dunes from the best viewpoint imaginable continue back towards Wolwedans to arrive there in the late afternoon.
Day 4 : Damaraland, Kuidas Tented Camp
After breakfast you will be picked up by Skeleton Coast Safaris for an a flight along the coast via Conception Bay, Sandwich harbour and the fascinating salt pans of Walfishbay towards Swakopmund where you stop for refueling. Continue with a low-level flight north along the Skeleton Coast past the seal colony at Cape Cross from where we cross the desert by aircraft to the Ugab formations, a nearly lifeless ‘moon landscape' of numerous black ridges in stark contrast to the white desert floor. From here we proceed to our Kuidas camp in the Huab Valley where we stay for the night. Amongst the rocks within walking distance of the camp are ancient rock engravings.

After breakfast we depart by Landrover to explore the colorful red lavas and yellow sandstones of the Huab River formations and its wide diversity of flora and fauna. This includes the Welwitschia mirabilis, a tree that has been dwarfed by the rigors of the desert climate. We have lunch back at camp before flying along the coast to Terrace Bay in the Skeleton Coast Park. The most prominent shipwrecks along this part of the coast are the Montrose and Henrietta, still relatively intact. At Terrace Bay we access the roaring dunes by Landrover, which always proves to be a stimulating experience. We also visit the beach with its profusion of multi-colored pebbles consisting of agates, lavas, granites and others. We return to the airfield and continue north to our Purros camp in the Hoarusib Valley.

The Kaiu Maru shipwreck and pieces from old sailing vessels lie scattered along this part of the coast. From the airfield we take a scenic drive by Landrover to our favourite site. After lunch we continue through the mountains and dunes of the Hartmann Valley, which extends to the

Etosha Game Reserve, Onguma is one of Namibia’s best-kept secrets. Situated on the eastern side of Etosha, bordering Fisher’s pan, here you will be afforded the opportunity of experiencing Africa in all her beauty and diversity.
The reserve boasts over thirty different animal species. Plains game roam freely on the reserve and predators, although not easy to spot, are nevertheless common residents of the area.
Onguma also became part of an innovative custodianship project relating to the black rhino. Six black rhino were darted in Etosha National park and shipped to the reserve. Here they are protected and monitored. More than 300 bird species can be viewed at Onguma. The reserve boasts the biggest breeding colony of white-backed vultures in Namibia. During the summer months Onguma becomes a bird-watchers paradise with thousands of species migrating to wetlands created by the seasonal rains and ephemeral river systems.
