The route follows the base of the volcanic Chyulu Hills, the youngest of the extinct volcanic range of hills (about 200 years old) and crosses a mass of lava flows. After lunch at your Camp, take an afternoon game drive that includes a visit to Mzima Springs where you can step down into a submerged glass tank and observe hippo and a variety of fish swimming by below! Spend the next day in the vast Tsavo as you enjoy Morning and Afternoon game drives and Lodge facilities.

Day 4-5: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast you check out from your overnight Camp and head to the Amboseli National Park as you enjoy watching game enroute. Check in at your Camp and after lunch set off on your first game drive in the park at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft). In the late afternoon you may see a lion or cheetah make a kill. Ideal photography opportunities abound with Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background. Amboseli has a lot to offer as you spend the day on safari. Its unique ecosystem supports five different wildlife habitats ensuring a great variety of game. There are swamps and marshland, open savannahs, acacia woodlands and thorn bush, and it is considered Kenya’s best place to watch elephants. Not only are lions and cheetahs found in abundance, there are large concentrations of Maasai giraffes, waterbucks, Coke's hartebeests, Cape buffalos, zebras, elands, gazelles and impalas - a game watcher’s paradise!

Accommodation: Amboseli Serena Lodge

Day 6-7: Samburu National Game Reserve

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a flight back to Nairobi where you change planes and continue to the Samburu Reserve. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met and transferred to the Samburu Serena Lodge for a 2-night stay. Enjoy your first game drive this afternoon and be introduced to the animals that are peculiar to this area - the reticulated giraffe, Gravy’s zebra, the Somali Ostrich amongst other flora and fauna. Spend another day exploring this harshly beautiful reserve where game is abundant, especially in the forested fringes of the Uaso Nyiro River, which flows gently through the dry landscape.

The next day you may choose between having a full day of game viewing or taking a morning game drive followed by a relaxing afternoon around the Camp pool. It is in the Masai Mara where the great migration of the wildebeest takes place at the beginning of August.
