Day by Day Outline

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara

Arusha is rightly called the Safari Capital of the World and it is here that you begin your tour. You will be picked up in the afternoon in a 4x4 safari vehicle and depart Arusha, passing through the Maasai Steppe and its picturesque African villages on the way. At the town of Makayuni, you turn North West and continue up a scenic escarpment that brings you to your lodge, perched on the edge of the Rift Valley with stunning views over Lake Manyara.

Day 2: Lake Manyara

After breakfast, you get back in your safari vehicle and spend the morning exploring and driving through Lake Manyara National Park. The park covers an area of 330 sq km of which about 230 sq km is the lake itself. You can always find hippo in the Simba River, elephant in the forests and a resident herd of Cape buffalo on the open plains, and tree-climbing lions if you're lucky! About midday continue to Mto Wa Mbu Village for lunch provided by Serena Active. Explore the local market, including interaction with the people themselves. Following this cultural experience you return to your lodge.

Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at Olduvai Gorge with a short visit of the museum.  You then continue into Serengeti National Park with a game drive enroute to your lodge located in Seronera (central Serengeti) arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring and game viewing across the plains of the Serengeti National Park returning to your lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti Plains exploring this famous park and all that it has to offer. tree-climbing lions if you're lucky! Covering 14,765 sq km, one of the striking features of this park is the series of large granite outcrops that dominate the vast plains, making it very different to the Masai Mara. It is an excellent place to spot the Big Five and of course, it plays host to the Great Wildebeest and Zebra Migration!

Day 5:  Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Depart after an early breakfast and drive back across the Serengeti plains and onto Ngorongoro with a picnic lunch en-route. On arrival immediately descend into the crater for game viewing in Africa's Garden of Eden with over 30,000 animals spread across the fertile crater floor. In the late afternoon, ascend the crater wall and check in at your lodge which is perched on the rim of this famous caldera.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast you depart Ngorongoro and drive to the Tarangire National Park arriving at your lodge in time for lunch ,with a game drive enroute. In the afternoon you go for a game drive and explore this diverse ecosystem returning to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park to Arusha

Depart after breakfast and head north east to Arusha arriving by midday and you will be dropped off in the Town Centre. This is the end of services, though our consultants can organise your accommodation, flights, transfers and more!
