Namibia is a vast and desolate backdrop of ancient landscapes against which a fascinating spread of flora and fauna has evolved to survive in the parched conditions.This mountain bike safari has been designed for the active types out there. For six days you will drive and ride through spectacular scenery in complete isolation - save for your guide and the handy and ever-present support vehicle.
The camps are fully serviced and reserved for exclusive use of the cycling party. Each camp has dome tents with mattresses and duvets, bucket showers and separate bush toilets. Dine by the light of a hurricane lamp and unwind beneath the stars, next to the campfire.

Day 1-2: Save the Rhino Camp, Ugab
Your guides will meet you at Windhoek for the drive to the spectacular Brandberg Mountain on the bank of the Ugab Riverbed. If there is time, ride the last 40km to the Save The Rhino campsite, which is pre-erected under large acacia trees. On the second day we will ride to an old zinc mine. The route has steep climbs and good downhills. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the comfort and shade of the camp and exploring the Ugab.

Meals: Full boardDay 3: Damaraland Camp, DamaralandYou should be acclimatised and ready for our longest stage: 90km of varied habitats and spectacular scenery to Damaraland Camp. Keep your eyes peeled for a lucky sighting of desert-adapted elephant and black rhino; also look out for giraffe, gemsbok, ostrich and springbok in the grassy plains.

Day 4: Palmwag Campsite, DamaralandDamaraland has a desolate, volcanic landscape with small rock-strewn plains where glaciers once moved. The 80km ride traverses this incredible land and is the heart of black rhino country, creating a challenging but highly rewarding ride.

Day 5: Palmwag Rhino Camp, DamaralandA short ride of 40km takes you through yet more rhino country to
Desert Rhino Camp – a million-acre private concession that is all yours.
Spend the afternoon tracking rhino on foot with specialist Save The Rhino trackers. A game drive to several natural springs might serve up a host of wildlife including predators, plains herds and most of Namibia's endemic birds.
Complete the picture with evening sundowner drinks soaking up the pure wilderness and total isolation of
Damaraland.
