DAY 1
We leave the majestic city of Cape Town and head through the dramatic
Du Toit’s Kloof Pass (mountain range) to the town of Robertson, sandwiched in the heart of the Winelands. We stop to enjoy the fruits of this region with a wine tasting tour in Montagu and then we treat ourselves to by a traditional South African lunch in a typical country restaurant in Barrydale. We continue through the stark semi-desert landscape of the little Karoo. When we reach the quaint town of Oudtshoorn, check out the world-famous Cango Caves with its ancient stalagmites and stalactites. Dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel or one of the nearby restaurants, located within walking distance.

DAY 2 We head to the Klein Karoo’s capital - Oudtshoorn where an optional extra is to visit Meerkat Manor. We visit the Safari Ostrich Ranch where we are given fun and detailed information about these strange flightless birds and their magnificent plumage. After enjoying a traditional ostrich lunch, we check out some rare and endangered animals on a fully guided tour at the Cango Wildlife Ranch.

DAY 3
Experience the stunning views of the Outeniqua Pass as we travel to Knysna to embark on the Featherbed Nature Reserve ferry from the Knysna Waterfront. On arrival we take a ‘Unimog’ (tractor driven wagon) ride to the top of the Western Head. An optional hike can be taken through the indigenous Knysna forest to the restaurant area where lunch is served. On our return to Knysna we depart for Oyster Tasting, and then you are free to enjoy some time in this beautiful little town before heading back to the hotel.

DAY 4 Our ecological adventure begins with an exciting beach launch from Plettenberg Bay in search of Bottlenose and rare Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins, as well as certain shark species. Resident Bryde’s whales, Common dolphins, Southern Right and Humpback whales, and even occasional Orcas are often seen. After an exhilarating beach landing on Central Beach (Plettenberg Bay) we enjoy refreshments, and then travel up the Indian Ocean seaboard to visit Monkeyland. A monkey safari, within an indigenous forest, is conducted by an experienced game ranger. Adjacent to
Monkeyland we find the bird sanctuary,
Birds of Eden, located within a two hectare dome (the world’s largest), which spans a gorge of indigenous forest. Here we spend some time, learning about the different bird species in their habitat. After a short lunch, we visit an Elephant sanctuary, where you can meet these giants close up and personal.

DAY 5-6
We leave Plettenberg Bay and travel to a safari lodge in the Eastern Cape arriving just in time for your afternoon game drive. All game drives are included in the cost and are led by experienced rangers.
Game drives take place in Open Landrovers ensuring you of some excellent gameviewing and photographic opportunities. Two daily game drives, in the early morning and late afternoon ensure you have the chance to view the animals when they are at their most active.

DAY 7
After an early morning game drive and a well-deserved breakfast you are transferred to Port Elizabeth, to continue your onward travel.
