Day 1 : Cape Town - Oudtshoorn
Depart Cape Town and travel over the scenic Du Toit's Kloof Pass to the small town of Robertson. Along the way be sure to introduce yourself to any other travellers sharing this amazing journey - after all that is part of the fun. In Robertson you will get to indulge in some wine tasting, South Africa's reds are world renowned. Upon arrival in Oudtshoorn visit the Cango Caves for a walk among ancient stalactites and stalagmites.

Day 2: Oudtshoorn
Upon waking be sure to ask your guide about the optional activity of a trip to Meerkat Manor. This amazing meerkat project is the only one of its type in the world and nowhere else would you be able to get so close and intimate with these cutest of Africa's small mammals. After this visit the Safari Ostrich ranch for an informative talk about these strange flightless birds. Why not challenge a fellow travellor to an Ostrich race! After a tasty Ostrich lunch ala "restuarant at the end of the universe" proceed to the Cango wildlife ranch where you will be introduced to some of Africa's most endangered and rarest animals.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn - Knysna
Travel over the stunning Outeniqua Pass to your next stop. Embark on a lagoon cruise on the beautiful Knysna lagoon and later taste some of Knysna's famed oysters. Also included is a trip by Unimog (tractor driven wagon) to the very top of the Western Head, the view from which is unsurpassed. You could also choose to hike through the indigenous forest surrounding Knysna.

Day 4: Knysna
Take a boat ride, launching from Plettenberg Bay, in search of Bottlenose and rare Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins, as well as certain shark species. Resident Bryde’s whales, Common dolphins, Southern Right and Humpback whales, and even occasional Orcas are often seen. After your sea journey take a short trip on land to Monkeyland for a monkey safari. Adjacent to Monkeyland we find the bird sanctuary, Birds of Eden which is the largest outdoor aviary in the world. Here we spend some time, learning about the different bird species in their habitat. After a short lunch, we visit an Elephant sanctuary, where you can meet these giants close up.

Day 5: Knysna - Cape Town
Travel via Mossel bay for a visit to the Bartholomeu Daiz Museum, enroute to Hermanus. If the season is right (July - November) expect to see whales in close proximity to the shore and listen out for the notes of the whale crier. Arrive back in Cape Town at your hotel or at the airport.
