Day 1&2 - Grande Roche, Cape Winelands

Our tour kicks off at the Grande Roche Hotel, near Paarl in the rolling Cape Winelands. The hotel is a member of the exclusive Relais & Chateaux group and the Estate has been declared a national monument. After some time to check-in, relax and appreciate your surroundings, we enjoy a guided cycle through the region, returning for a sumptuous feast at the world-renowned Bosman’s Restaurant.

The next day we explore the Stellenbosch region by cycling through the picturesque Devon Valley. We sample superb wines at a well-known vineyard and lunch at a quaint local restaurant. We learn how to make Method Cap de Classique, a local "champagne", before taking a guided walk through Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second oldest town, and returning to Grande Roche for dinner.

Accommodation: Grande Roche
Meals: Full board basis, including all activities

Day 3&4 - Sanbona Game Reserve, Route 62

We depart the Winelands and make our way along the lesser travelled Route 62, cycling the last stretch into the malaria free Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, home to the Big Five, including free-roaming white lions. Check into the excellent Dwyka tented lodge and after lunch, enjoy a traditional game drive with a qualified ranger.

The next day, we enjoy a guided cycle through the southern section of the reserve. Marvel at the amazing Warmwatersberg mountains, the breathtaking vistas of the semi-desert Klein Karoo and the dry riverbeds with plains game. There is no big game in this section of the reserve so the cycle is safe and a ranger will be there to provide information and ensure your comfort. There will be regular breaks for snacks and photos, and the views are simply breathtaking.

After an excellent lunch, we visit some of the ancient Bushmen rock art sites in the reserve, marvelling at the paintings depicting the customs and culture of the hunter-gatherer San people.

Accommodation: Sanbona Dwyka
Meals: Full board basis, including all activities

Day 5&6 - Wilderness, Garden Route

We are transferred along Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, famous for its ostriches and the Cango Caves. We can cycle along the stunning Montagu Pass on our way to the luxurious Views Boutique Hotel and Spa. This is the Garden Route at its very best with a beautiful beach, often blessed with sightings of whales and dolphins, lush forest and lagoons leading out into the Indian Ocean. Indulge with a treatment at the Health Spa and a gourmet dinner at the Foam Restaurant.

The next day, paddle your canoe down the nearby river spotting an array of birdlife along the way. Relax in the afternoon or go swimming, water skiing or just stroll along the beach - our guides are on hand to fulfil your every request.

Accommodation: Views Boutique Hotel
Meals: Full board basis, including all activities

Day 7&8 - Shamwari Game Reserve

After breakfast we transfer to Knysna and explore one of South Africa's favourite towns with the shimmering lagoon, historic Waterfront and stunning setting. We cycle down from The Heads and enjoy a heritage walk through the forest, still apparently home to one surviving Knysna elephant! We transfer to the world-famous Shamwari Game Reserve, in time for an evening game drive in search of the Big Five!

We enjoy another guided cycling trip through the 25,000-hectare reserve with state of the art bicycles, providing the utmost in comfort and efficiency with pedal power. We visit the rehabilitation and wildlife centre and enjoy an unrivalled malaria free safari in one of the world's prime wilderness areas!

Accommodation: Shamwari Game Reserve (home to 7 lodges)
Meals: Full board basis, including all activities

Day 9&10 - Oceana Beach & Wildlife Reserve

After a guided game walk among the sights and sounds of the bush, we enjoy a well-deserved breakfast and perhaps a spa treatment. After an unforgettable time, we leave Shamwari and make our way to the pristine Oceana Beach & Wildlife Reserve, just an hour’s drive away.

Oceana is the perfect place for a seaside retreat, with its 7km private beach and indigenous natural vegetation. Enjoy champagne on the beach and stroll along the soft silky sand, go horse riding or hiking through the bush. Sit back and spot whales breaching in the ocean or see zebra and other wildlife drinking from the waterhole!

Accommodation: Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve
Meals: Full board basis, including all activities
