A whistle stop Rwandan gorilla tracking tour

This whistle stop tour affords you two opportunities to meet the magnificent gorillas in their forested habitat high on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains. In addition you will take in a little of Rwanda's culture and history with a visit to the Genocide Memorial in Kigali part of the itinerary. There will also be some down time to reflect on your amazing experiences with the gorillas, something you will undoubtably be doing for a long long time to come. You will also get to stay in the real 'Hotel Rwanda' as well as the luxurious Mountain Gorillas Nest hotel.

Day 1: Kigali

Upon arrival into Kigali, you are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. That afternoon, you get to grips with the vibrant Africaness of Rwanda's capital with a sight-seeing tour of Kigali including the Franco-Rwandan Cultural centre and the Genocide Memorial site.

Day 2: Virunga Mountains

Today you have an early morning transfer to Virunga Conservation area. On arrival you will recieve a briefing, be assigned your gorilla family and head up into the mountains for your first tracking experience. On your return have lunch at the lodge, after which you can go for a sightseeing and shopping tour of the nearby colourful markets.

Day 3: Virunga Mountains

This morning, you will have an option for a second morning of gorilla tracking. In the afternoon, return to the lodge for lunch and some leisure time. In the very unlikely event that you do not opt for a second track, then you will have an option to explore the area including the nearby twin Lakes of Ruhundo and Burera.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast, you are transferred to Kigali Airport to connect for your onward flight.
