Rovos Rail
Established in 1989, the Rovos Rail company has earned a well deserved reputation as a provider of the finest luxury train journeys in the Southern Hemisphere. Operating out of Capital Park Station in Pretoria, the only privately owned railway station in South Africa, Rovos Rail conducts all its journeys in lovingly restored authentic locomotives and coaches, Rovos Rail headquarters even has its own railway museum.
Whether hauled by steam, diesel or electric locomotives one thing always remains consistent on the Rovos journey - style! The wood panelled coaches have all been remodelled and refurbished to pristine condition. In a bygone era every journey would have been made in this sort of luxury and class. The Blue Train
For over 60 years the Blue Train has led from the front in providing luxurious train journeys through South Africa. The ultimate definition of luxury in motion, accommodation is in luxurious suites with individually controlled air-conditioning and an entertainment centre with a choice of movie and radio channels.
