Kenya’s Olare Motorogi Conservancy is more than 14,160 hectares of pristine African wilderness, with the Mara Plains Camp right at its heart. Situated on a bend in the Ntiakitiak River and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve right next door, the views of the landscape and its wildlife are unparalleled. Plus: the camp’s design does a great deal to accentuate the surrounding plains, rather than overpowering them.
Game-viewing is some of the best in the region with morning and afternoon game drives affording guests the opportunity to see lion, cheetah, leopard, hippo, hyena, elephant, and many other majestic creatures. As one of only 5 safari camps in this conservancy, Mara Plains Camp guarantees guests an intimate safari adventure – minus the hassle of constantly bumping into large groups of tourists.
Decorated in a fusion of colonial and East African influences – with its leather and brass textures, safari-style furniture and deep-red surfaces – Mara Plains Camp recalls the atmosphere of the safari camps of old. 7 octagonal Canvas Rooms bring the total capacity of the camp to 14 guests, ensuring an exclusive experience. Each of these canvas suites features an en-suite bathroom, mosquito netting, and a private veranda.
The Mara Pains Camp is situated on the northern border of Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve in the 30,000-acre Olare Orok Conservancy.
