Mara Intrepids is a large and insatiably welcoming safari lodge on the Talek River and close to the Mara River in the Masai Mara Game Reserve in south-west Kenya. The 30 safari tents have luxurious bathrooms with oversize mahogany four-poster beds, wooden floors, river-view verandahs, and a surprising level of privacy: the camp comprises several self-contained wings.
There are four living areas ensuring large groups have autonomy while individuals remain undisturbed and able to enjoy the pristine East Africa wilderness and the spectacular Masai Mara setting to the full. Food is homely, well-presented, and prepared with fresh ingredients. Mara Intrepids has pioneered the family safari with family-sized tents and two separate wildlife and community programmes designed for young children and teenagers.
Great staff and Game Viewing
If there's a single highlight of Mara Intrepids, it has to be the enthusiasm, friendliness and genuine welcome presented by all the staff. But there isn't a single highlight and the staff have to compete with the sensational game viewing, spectacular African scenery, ultra-luxurious rooms, and delightful interaction with the Maasai villagers.
