Stretching along its 85km long coast, there are a myriad of beaches and seaside resorts lining the shores of Zanzibar Island's turqoise-coloured Indian Ocean. Most travellers head to the
North Coast, best known for its palm-fringed beaches, and the
East Coast or
South Coast, which are both more secluded and private getaways.
Stone Town, the charming capital, is well worth a visit and really captures the essence of this cosmopolitan island with its cobbled streets, colourful markets and minaret-lined skyscape. If are looking for an even more exclusive beach holiday then why not head to one of the
Satellite Islands, such as Pemba, that really are like paradise!
