Settled comfortably in the deep shade of tall riverine trees is the profoundly peaceful Zambezi Kulefu Camp. Providing luxury accommodation for a maximum of only twelve guests the camp is a private and exclusive safari getaway in some of the most pristine game filled wilderness in Africa. Set on the banks of the mighty Zambezi river the camp offers seven spacious chalets with twin or double beds, mosquito nets, ensuite facilities and of course a signature view of the sluggish water. Eco-friendly and very well appointed the camp has two main areas, the lounge and the dining area, both are housed in large canvas Bedouin style tents lending the whole place an open airy feel and minimizing the camps overall footprint on the land around it, something the local wildlife seem to appreciate as they tend to wander through the camp! Other enhancing aspects include the sparkling swimming pool with a view of its own as well as the host of activities on offer including day and night game drives.
SPECIAL: Pay for 2 nights, stay for 3! Valid until 15 November 2009.
Kulefu – “the faraway place”, located on a permanent channel of the Zambezi, is shaded by massive Winterthorn Acacias which provide a cool and relaxing location to watch the world go by.

What to do on the Zambezi
In the Lower Zambezi National Park much of the wildlife is concentrated around the network of rivers, rivulets, streams and ponds coming off of the Zambezi River. This is especially true in the dry season when the never dry Zambezi provides nourishment to the land and its inhabitants. Consequently the best way to see the wildlife and birdlife in the park is from the water. Thus a canoeing safari is a popular choice or if your sea legs are not up to a fragile canoe you can navigate the same waterways by boat in search of elephant, hippo, crocodile and any number of other wild animals. Another popular pastime is to fish the deep waters in search of the best fighting fresh water fish of them all, the tigerfish!

Old Mondoro
Local legend tells of an ancient white lion (Mondoro in Shona) that stalked this neck of the woods in the time of Livingstone and Stanley, named after the legend and built in a fashion the old explorers would have approved of is this simple but amazing safari camp.
