Tangala House | InformationTangala House is a private getaway on the banks of the Zambezi River, just 15km upstream from Victoria Falls. It is fully serviced and staffed by Tongabezi Lodge, but here you have the whole place to yourself and your loved ones. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 with an ensuite bathroom plus a fourth communal bathroom. There is a separate toilet and a children's playroom so the kids will be entertained. There is a well-equipped kitchen so you can self-cater if you please - or you can allow the house assistant to prepare your favourite meals. The living room is spacious and cosy with a large sofa and two armchairs as well as satellite TV, video and Hi Fi. It leads onto a thatched veranda with a swimming pool to keep you cool during the day and a fireplace to keep you warm at night. The house itself is serviced by an assistant, who can help with cooking, housekeeping and laundry as well as 2 groundsmen. Most of the rooms have very high thatch ceilings and the passages have large arches and thick walls. There is a terraced grass lawn in front of the house, ideal for children, before it drops down to the winding Zambezi River. The views from all the rooms are spectacular and elephant and hippos are often spotted along the banks. You can kick back on the verandah and enjoy your meals al fresco or even meander down to the railway sleeper picnic table on the terrace for a bite to eat. It's your private house, so you decide how you want things done at Tangala. NB: Tangala House is open during Christmas and Easter, plus June, July and August. Other times of the year are available on request only. There is a minimum stay of 3 nights for safari holidays and a minimum occupancy of four people. |
