Sabora Plains Tented Camp Information

Sabora Tented Camp is themed in 1920s style with antique leather trunks, Persian rugs and two old Chevrolets parked in front of the camp! Hemingway would have been at home here. Accommodation consists of six spacious tented rooms raised slightly off the ground on a wooden deck, each complete with a well-appointed bathroom and verandah.

There are two large tents which function as the main lounge and dining area with an additional outside lounge positioned on the deck between them. All are lavishly furnished with wooden campaign furniture, Persian rugs and pieces of African art. Yet the tents blend in well with their environment to ensure harmony with the surroundings.

Lodge Highlights

  • Great armchair game viewing over the Serengeti plains
  • See countless wildebeest & zebra cross Grumeti River
  • Luxury lodge with wonderful vistas of African plains
  • Travel back in time at this colonial style offering
  • Exclusive setting in wildlife-packed Grumeti Reserves

Exclusive setting in Grumeti

Sabora Tented Camp is located in the Grumeti Reserves - and you can only stay in this area with Singita. This means you are guaranteed a private and exclusive game viewing experience, far removed from the throngs of tourists in most other parts of the Serengeti. The Great Migration passes through the Grumeti River so this is your chance to witness thousands of wildebeest and zebra cross crocodile-infested rivers!

Singita launches balloon safaris

Singita has introduced balloon safaris at its Grumeti Reserve in Tanzania. The one-hour safaris can accommodate between four and eight passengers, with options available for larger groups. The flight begins at 05h30 when guests leave their camp for a pre-dawn 20-minute game drive from the camp to the balloon launch pad in the reserve.
