Very few travellers to Tanzania make it to the Selous Game Reserve. It is pretty much out of the way in a remote region south of Dar es Salaam but if you do manage to get here, it is well worth the effort! The largest reserve in Africa is much bigger than Switzerland and is home to huge herds of game that wander the area at will.
NB: We know the Selous Game Reserve better than most so if you have any questions or want to include it on your Tanzania trip, let us know.
Don't delay - contact us to plan your tailormade trip!

Only 10% of the Selous is open to tourism as the rest is reserved for hunting and research. Most tours involve the northern sector of the park around the awe-inspiring Rufiji River and its network of waterways and lakes. This is a massive area nonetheless and from your lodge on the banks of the river, you are afforded a wilderness experience that really is like nowhere else in Africa.
