Let us organise every aspect of your journey to and from the Ngorongoro Crater - and why not take in the Serengeti as part of the adventure!
Most visitors to the Ngorongoro Crater tend to fly in directly to the private airstrip near the crater rim, just 3km from the Conservation Area headquarters.
Arusha is the gateway to the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit, which includes
Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire Reserve and the
Serengeti. From Arusha, you take a flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is also serviced by international airlines. From there, it is a short 30 minute flight into the Serengeti or Ngorongoro with spectacular views over the plains. Most visitors combine the two destinations and it is about 150km from the Serengeti National Park to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
By road, the road is a lot more uncomfortable and longer! It takes about five hours to cover about 180km since the roads are pretty rough and ready. It is a very scenic drive which passes through
Lake Manyara National Park and over the Rift Valley Escarpment before finally reaching the Conservation Area. We recommend the flight!
NB: We can organise everything from your international flights to your domestic charters or road transfers. Don't stress out about planning your journey - leave it to us and we will ensure it is a pleasure.
