Madikwe Safari Lodge Description

The guest suites in this lodge feature sitting areas, bedrooms with circular fireplaces, spacious dressing areas with personal bars, and bathrooms with twin hand basis, large bathtubs, indoor and outdoor showers and private toilets. Woven copper screens add intriguing detail. The suites are organic in design, and French Doors opening onto wooden decking lead to inviting plunge pools. Madikwe Safari Lodge is ideal for family safaris.

Guest areas in all camps feature a series of intimate sitting areas and shaded outdoor seating on the expansive covered decks. There are plentiful fireplaces both inside and outdoors with pizza ovens for fun dining. Pleasant, book filled libraries and interpretative centres offer more guest delight. A covered outdoor living room offers inviting and informal seating for casual bonhomie. The nearby boma is the seating for evocative starlit dinners.

Madikwe Safari Lodge : Game Viewing

Madikwe is fames for Operation Phoenic which after completion in 1997 was the world ‘s largest game translocation exercise, successfully introducing more than 8000 animals of 28 species. These includes the Super Seven as Madikwe not only has the Big Five but Cheetah and Wild Dog. Madikwe’s diverse geology and broad mix of habitats allows a wide range of wildlife to flourish. Spotted and brown hyena and a rich biodiversity of mammals, from Mountain Reedbuck, oryx, sable, and eland to Zebra all make for rewarding game viewing.

350 species of birds have been identified, including the rare morph yellow form crimson shrike and numerous raptors. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in open game viewing vehicles led by trained rangers delivering a world class interpretative experience of the bush.
