Xugana Island Lodge | Description

Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a wooded island abutting the lagoon. It is part of Xugana private concession - widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta. Xugana Island Lodge accommodates just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch chalets.

The recently refurbished chalets have twin beds, en-suite facilities, with walk in showers, overhead fans and a private deck. The lounge, bar and dining areas are set back under the Fig and Leadwood tree canopy in open sided thatched areas. The swimming pool, located amongst the mature gardens in the center of the island, is a perfect place to relax. Xugana is renowned for its unique dinner venues, all al Fresco, on the island.

Activities at Xugana Island Lodge are water based! Staying at Xugana lets you enjoy all the activities that the Okavango Delta does best. Enjoy tranquil mokoro trips in eco-friendly dugout canoes, combined with adrenaline pumping walks on surrounding lagoons and islands in the concession. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding, fishing for bream and tiger fish are offered as activities at the lodge.

Your arrival at Xugana Island Lodge will be arranged for you by co-ordinating a transfer by means of light aircraft charter. These air transfers operate from either Maun, Kasane (to which you will be transfered to by road, if travelling from Livingstone or Victoria Falls) or any of the other camps or lodges in Botswana. If you are staying in nearby lodges we highly recommend doing a boat transfer as this allows you to experience the Okavango Delta in its own right.
