Tubu Tree Camp is on Hunda Island, the largest in the private Jao Reserve, which is in the north-west of the Okavango Delta. Hiding under the generous tree canopy, five comfortable east-African tented rooms look out over the floodplains. Each tent is raised off the ground on a wooden platform and has an en suite bathroom with additional outdoor shower and a private viewing deck.
The main lodge is an airy expanse of timber and thatch; the pub and dining areas look out over the plains. The campfire and plunge pool offer the best of day and night-time relaxation. The island has large areas of permanently dry savannah, which makes it attractive to plains game and predators; the permanent waters of the adjacent delta offer abundant birdlife and riverine animals.
Tubu Tree Camp’s habitats offer an exciting diversity of wildlife: riverine birds; semi-aquatic mammals; plains game and woodland browsers. The lodge has a relaxed and intimate atmosphere and the view from its elevated position is spectacular.
