Kwetsani Camp | Description

Kwetsani Camp is a Wilderness Safaris lodge on a remote island in a private reserve within the Okavango Delta. The camp overlooks a large game-filled floodplain and is built into a deep thicket of mangosteen, fig and palm trees. Accommodation is in tree houses built with reed, wood, thatch and timber; the five chalets have en suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, private decks and luxurious bedding. The living area is also raised into the trees and accessible by elevated walkways.

Decorated with an east-African flair, the lounge opens onto a shaded deck and dining area that leads down to a pool deck overlooking the plain. Wilderness Safaris love their wildlife and all things natural so you’re guaranteed an exciting and absorbing encounter with the African bush and the spectacular delta.

Kwetsani Camp: complete wilderness experience

Activities at Kwetsani Camp include mokoro trips, water safaris, guided walks, game drives, night drives and bird watching. The wildlife is as diverse as the activities and the birdlife is spectacular with specials like Pel’s fishing owl, wattled crane, slaty egrets, pink-throated longclaws, African skimmers and jacanas. The rare lechwe and sitatunga are resident in this area and receding water levels bring the plains game: elephant, wildebeest, tsessebe, lechwe and zebra. Lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena are often seen on the floodplains.
