Namibia is a huge country and a fly in safari allows you the opportunity to visit vast areas of the country in a relative short period of time.
- Do it all and see it all in a short space of time
- Arguably the most romantic of all our tours and safaris
- Ideal for guests not wanting to self drive or join a group
- The only way to see some of Namibia's more remote areas
- Spectacular views from the air show the geology of Namibia
The distinct advantage of exploring Namibia with charter flights is the amount of time you save. Namibia has an efficient network of Charter companies that run on a hop on hop off basis! Alternatively planes can be privately chartered. The following is a selection of our favourite fly in safaris but
contact us and we can plan your trip!

Luggage is exceptionally limited on a fly in safaris and therefore packing for your fly in safari is quite an art. It is possible to leave your excess luggage in Johannesburg or
Windhoek enabling you only to take only the essentials. The lodges offer simple laundry facilities allowing you on a 2 night stay the opportunity to get the basics laundered before you depart for your next destination. The following should give you a good idea what you need to pack for your fly in safari.
Luggage & Baggage
The planes are small and therefore your luggage should be a small pliable kit size bag with no rigid surfaces it should be able to be placed into the limited storage hold of the plane. Avoid at all cost luggage that has wheels, hard cases, and the cardinal sin of all safaris - Samsonite Cases!
Safari Clothes
Clothing for your Namibia safari needs to be light and comfortable. We recommend that you stick with outdoor style clothing the likes of which can be purchased at Ex Officio, Colombio or even by visiting the Rhino Kit website. Trousers and shorts are perfect. Neutral colours blend into the environment for game walks, do not show the dust and keep you cool during the heat of the day. During winter months we suggest you pack the minimum of a warm jacket with insulated lining. Remember to pack a swim suit and sarong even in the winter months- you might not be able to swim but will enjoy relaxing around the camp.
Shoes
We suggest you pack a pair of walking shoes for game drives and bush walks and for walking on the dunes. During the day and in and around the lodges and camp you will feel comfortable in a pair of sandals or flip flops.
Toiletries
Avoid packing unnecessary toiletries. Lodges supply shampoo, conditioner, cotton-wool, shower gel, and moisturizer. Hairdryers and adaptors are also supplied. We recommend that you really only take the essentials in personal toiletries and medications.
Hats, Sunglasses and Suncreams
Absolutely essential on any fly in safari, is a large hat, sun screen, and sunglasses. We recommend a wide brim hat that protects your ears. The heat is searing in Namibia and the reflection means that you can easily get burnt.
Camera and Memory Sticks
Ensure you pack your camera, plenty of batteries and memory cards. Namibia is one of the photogenic countries in the world and most people return from a safari and cannot believe how many photographs they took!
