When comparing our quotes with those of our competitors it is absolutely vital that you check the includes and excludes. Most of the lodges in Namibia offer rates that are either fully inclusive or dinner, bed & breakfast.
Fully Inclusive Rates
As the name suggests a fully inclusive rate includes all the activities that you might want to do in the area when you arrive at the lodge. This is the rate that we generally and automatically quote as we feel strongly that you would not be visiting the lodge if you were not going to do the activity. Examples of activities might include : Game Drives, Bush Walks, Nature Drives, Desert Elephant Tracking and Desert Black Rhino.
Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Rates
As the name suggests Dinner, Bed and Breakfast rates do not include activities. This usually means that you can check in and choose which activities you want to do. These are charged for on departure. A word of warning, if you plan to do several activities it is more cost effective to book at Fully Inclusive Rate from the word go. Remember the long distances between the areas in Namibia, we therefore do not recommend anything less than a 2 night stay unless it is a simple 'overnight' enroute to your destination.
Prices in Namibia
By and large prices of accommodation in Namibia is more expensive than in South Africa, despite the fact that it is generally not as sophisticated. This is a pity, but you have to consider the fact that the guest houses and lodges are remote, and that makes everything more logistically difficult and therefore expensive to run. For example in some places the owners have to drive 2 hours - or sometimes even 4 to do their shopping. So be prepared to spend a little more, but we have never met anyone who felt that Namibia was bad value for money.
