The Fürstenhof Hotel in Namibia's Capital Windhoek

The Hotel Fürstenhof is a modern-looking hotel near the Windhoek's city centre. Framed on the left by the sandstone Lutheran Christuskirche and a modern office block on the right, Windhoek city unfolds from the hotel into the surrounding hills. While it has the feel of a chain hotel gone fancy, the Fürstenhof's size and friendly staff ensure it retains the feel of independent hotel.

The Furstenhof Hotel rooms were also given the proverbial lick of paint and all are comfortable, some more so, spacious, some more so, and well appointed. Facilities include air conditioning – essential in the Windhoek summer – cable TV, mini bars, complimentary tea and coffee, electronic safes, hair dryers, and direct-dial telephones. The restaurant serves à la carte meals and is popular with the locals – that should be recommendation enough. The newly added swimming pool – another essential Windhoek survival feature – has a lush terrace and an informal bistro that offers light meals and refreshments during the day.
