Frans Indongo Lodge

Frans Indongo Lodge in the Waterberg Plateau Region of Namibia

Frans Indongo Lodge is a small and relaxing lodge between Windhoek and Etosha in the Waterberg region of Namibia. Resembling an Ovambo village, knobbly sticks and thick grass reeds cover the stone walls, and the roofs of the 'huts' and the main lodge are all thatched. Each of the six spacious chalets has a traditional African theme with a velvety overtone of luxury not found in your average Namibia village: air conditioning, mini bars, satellite TV, and en suite bathrooms.

The living area at Frans Indongo has just one wall, the other three sides open out onto the plains of the Waterberg and the front extends to an open-air deck perfect for summer evenings and dinner beneath the stars. A game viewing tower adjacent to the lodge offers excellent views of the surrounding plains and the busy waterhole below.

Frans Indongo Lodge – much more than Etosha-Windhoek stopover

In a private game reserve that covers 170sq km, the game viewing and wilderness experience at Frans Indongo Lodge will only enhance your Namibian safari. At the lodge itself, a waterhole attracts some of the rare species of Namibia's wildlife including nyala, sable, roan, white blesbok, rhino (black and white), Rüppell's parrot, and many species of bird. Walking trails up to four hours long culminate on large hill with views across the reserve to the Waterberg Plateau. Frans Indongo Lodge offers day well organised and rewarding trips to Otjiwarango, the Waterberg Plateau Park, the OvaHerero Cultural Centre, the Rare and Endangered Species Trust, and to the Cheetah Conservation Fund.
