The Strand Hotel is to Swakopmund, what Swakopmund is to Namibia: you can't visit one and not the other.Situated on the breakwater and overlooking the town's swimming beach, you cannot visit Swakopmund and not experience the Strand Hotel – even if it's just for a milkshake at the pavement café, or a coffee and strudel in the dining terrace overlooking the sea.

The Strand Hotel, owned by the Namib Sun Hotels group, is a distinctive feature of the Swakopmund beachfront. Of its 45 rooms, 23 face the sea and the busy promenade of the mole (the breakwater, not the burrowing insectivorous mammal); the other 22 face a small municipal park with a stand of some of the town's tallest palm trees.Strand Hotel's amenities and obliging staff are sufficient to provide a comfortable stay in Swakopmund; it's location, in the hub of the seaside activity, is sufficient to provide a fabulous stay in Swakopmund.
