Sam's Giardino in Swakopmund NamibiaSam's Giardino is a small guesthouse in the so-called sunnier part of Swakopmund. Sam himself is an experienced hotelier and the evidence of this is all around: reassuringly efficient service, purposeful décor and five-course dinners washed down with wine from the private cellar. The rooms are a tad functional but they are comfortable and spacious all the same. Two doubles, six twins and a family unit make up the total with four more rooms and a spa in a luxury annexe slated for completion at the end of 2007. The current rooms have en suite bathrooms, wicker chairs and a view of the lush garden. The living space features a breakfast bistro, reading lounge, a lounge bar with fireplace, a walk-in cellar and an elegant dining room. Sam conducts daily tastings and knows a thing or two about wine. An environment befitting of one of our favourite hotels in Swakopmund. |
