The Burning Shores is the Swakopmund hotel that shot to fame when the Jolie-Pitt phenomenon chose it for their three-month pre-natal escape to Namibia. And what a choice for escape. The main living area has an ornate cocktail bar; a lounge with a fireplace and a lavish dining room. Like the rooms, the sea and that burning sunset is a central feature of the view. You have direct access to a private beach and a private Jacuzzi if you fear the effects of a dip in the icy Atlantic Ocean.

The Burning Shore Hotel is on an isolated stretch of beach and your privacy and seclusion are guaranteed. And if you feel like a bit of company or activity, a short drive north or south will take you to Swakopmund or Walvis Bay, which offer plenty of both. It will therefore come as no surprise that this was therefore the ideal location for Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie to chose to escape to when they had holidays in Namibia.
