Farm Landsberg Description

Farm Landsberg, one of four farms making up the Tiras Mountains Conservancy, is a tranquil desert escape in the vast emptiness of southern Namibia. The conservancy, which covers an area of 125,000ha, lies on the edge of the Namib-Naukluft Park between the Fish River Canyon and Sossusvlei. Blue-grey mountains, buttercup-yellow plains, and rust-red inselbergs give this private conservancy a scenic attraction that mixes well with the interesting indigenous plants including the quiver tree and several Nama Karoo succulents.

Accommodation consists of five stone chalets with en suite bathrooms and a choice of single or double configurations. Your hosts, Wilfred and Anneliese, ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxed with good food, pleasant company, and a comfortable room in which to enjoy the total peace and quiet of the world's oldest desert.

Farm Landsberg: a tranquil and scenic stopover

An ideal stop between the Fish River Canyon and Sossusvlei and the Namib-Naukluft Park, Farm Landsberg is in the northern section of the Tiras Mountains and there are many ways to enjoy the peace, serenity, and scenic splendour of the pro-Namib. Walking trails reveal a variety of succulents, shrubs, and annuals endemic to the desert; guided 4x4 trails offer an exciting adventure in the mountains; game viewing; birdwatching is good with a number of specials to bee seen; day trips to the Baron von Wolf's Duiwiseb Castle, the feral horses of Aus, and balloon and scenic flights over the Namib dunes and Sossusvlei.
