Situated inside the Gondwana Cañon Park – a massive private reserve on the edge of the Canyon National Park – the village has 21 cottages in laager formation around a town-hall sized living area. The quaint rural scene is presided over by towering mountains of jumbled rocks and looks out over the pristine wilderness of Namibia's ancient landscape. The living area is a massive thatched hallway with fireplaces, long dining tables and a bistro in the centre. Beyond the living area over the parched earth is a large pool surrounded by lawn and recliners facing the magnificent view; tucked into the enormous boulders is a rather splendid bar and a good way to take up the African tradition of saluting the setting sun with an appropriate beverage. |
