There are relatively few lodges to stay at in the Kalahari and Fish River Canyon areas, but those that we have selected are charming and comfortable and allow you to explore this vast and seemingly untouched piece of Namibia.
Rule number one of travelling to this area, don't arrive without having booked your overnight accommodation. There is so few lodges in the area, we would hate for you to arrive and for there to be no where to stay.
In the Fish River Canyon Area our personal favourite is the
Canon Lodge, set within the Gondwana Park this lodge specialises in serving homegrown produce. Other lodges within this area of the Fish River Canyon include
Canon Road Lodge and
Canon Village, these are aimed at guests who are looking for good value for money. The themed bar at Canon Road Lodge is definately worthy of a Windhoek Beer or two !
Further north in the Mariental area you will find Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch and
Kalahari Anib.
Bagatelle is an owner run and managed lodge on the edge of the Kalahari where some of the rooms have been made with 60cm thick bundles of hay ! A great place to see the Kalahari Wildlife. Kalahari Anib is slightly larger by comparision but set on its own private reserve it offers you the opportunity to see Gemsbok, Springbok and other wildlife.
Intu Africa Game Lodge in the Kalahari consists of 4 smaller lodges and gives you the opportunity to interact with the San Bushman and to understand the Namibian Culture and way of life.
