Pronounced oka-KOO-yo, Okaukuejo is a no-frills lodge, with (recently renovated) bungalows, a bar and a restaurant, and a cool swimming pool, inside Etosha National Park. Being one of only three places to stay in an area the size of Israel, your accommodation is naturally quite exclusive. The lodge is owned and run by Namibia Wildlife Resorts who are currently injecting a lot of money into refurbishing their accommodation portfolio.
The rooms are getting a much-needed facelift and new luxury chalets are being added. In all there are 102 rooms ranging from basic doubles to luxury waterhole chalets; each has an en suite bathroom and air conditioning. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets and the bar will keep you lubricated while you watch the wildlife at the waterhole in front – reputedly one of the best in Etosha.
Okaukuejo is one of three lodges inside Etosha National Park. Overlooking a popular floodlit waterhole, accommodation is in bungalows of varying size and the lodge has a restaurant, bar, pool, a small shop, and a filling station.
