Palmwag Lodge is built in the classic Damaraland style with russet granite stones forming rounded walls that prop up thatched roofs and reflect the warm late-afternoon Damara light. Palmwag is an institution in Namibia and a perennial favourite with small groups and independent travellers on a well-advised quest to discover the ancient geology, fascinating flora and fauna, and mesmerising beauty of Damaraland.

Room types at Palmwag Lodge include double or triple bungalows, double tents, and a family cottage; all have en suite bathrooms and are furnished with comfortable beds and subtle desert décor. Life at the lodge revolves around the fabulous pool and its attendant bar; inside is a restaurant and lounge area. Palmwag Lodge is well placed for a few nights' stopover between Swakopmund or the Skeleton Coast and the northern destinations of Etosha, Kaokoland, and the Caprivi.
