Kuidas Tented Camp

Kuidas Camp Namibia Information

For a unique combination of rustic simplicity, essential comforts, and total exclusivity, look no further than a fly-in safari to Kuidas Camp in the Torra Conservancy along Namibia's Skeleton Coast. Reserved exclusively for individual groups on a multi-day fly-in safari, Kuidas Camp comprises four igloo-shaped tents built into the reeds along edge of the ephemeral Huab River. The chemical toilet and hot bucket shower pose as an en suite bathroom and make almost no impact on the fragile desert ecosystem – the living area has some slightly more lavish shared bathroom facilities.

The lounge, bar and dining area is a reed-enclosed, thatch-roofed space that opens out onto a deck and campfire overlooking the spectacular Damaraland scenery of the Huab River Valley. A choice of good wines accompany your dinners which are fresh and simple; breakfast and lunch are usually cold buffets.

Kuidas Camp – rustic exclusivity in the middle of Damaraland and the Skeleton Coast

Part of a multi-day fly-in safari that includes Purros  and Kunene Camps, Kuidas Camp offers the bare essentials to maintain a balance between your comfort and the well-being of the fragile desert in which it stands. With just four dome tents – cocooned in reed and thatch – lining the dry Huab River, the camp is reserved for single groups travelling together and is in a vast and uninhabited region of the Skeleton Coast. Activities at Kuidas Camp include birdwatching, game viewing, scenic nature drives, and walking trails to ancient rock paintings.
