Impalila Island Lodge InformationImpalila Island Lodge is on the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. Surrounded by game parks that rank among Africa's best, the lodge is a secluded haven of tranquillity in a setting so spectacular it quickens the heartbeat. With an enormous baobab tree as its centrepiece, the lodge lines the water's edge with 16 luxurious suites and a sumptuous living area. The en suite rooms are log cabins raised above the marshy island floor on stilts; the décor is polished teak, white linen and African sculptures. Each has a secluded balcony peeking out through papyrus and palm over the silent river. The living area has a large wooden deck built around the baobab tree, a pool deck, and a cosy open-sided lounge and pub area. Dining – on fresh ingredients and fine wine – occurs in several venues: at the water's edge; on another island; in the privacy of your room; beneath the stars by the great baobab tree; and even in the dining room. |
