Mumbo Island | Information

Mumbo Island is located within a private concession in the Lake Malawi National Park, a World Heritage Site and protected marine reserve. The island has never been inhabited, so guests really are guaranteed an exclusive experience in an unspoilt setting. Apart from lazing about in hammocks and wallowing in the warm waters, guests can enjoy a range of non-motorised water sports (better for peace and quiet, as well as the environment) such as kayaking, snorkelling, scubadiving and sailing. The camp is raised on granite rocks that tumble down to the lake shore, with stunning views stretching to the horizon.

Accommodation consists of 7 tented suites hosting a maximum of 14 guests. Each tent comes with eco-friendly toilets and hot bucket showers, as well as a private viewing deck complete with hammock for whiling the days away. Freshly caught fish is served in the thatched dining area or you can wine and dine under the stars. Savour a sunset drink at the bar or relax in the chilled lounge area, as another day comes to pass on the magical Mumbo Island.
