Tuningi Safari Lodge, in the Malarai-free Madikwe Game Reserve, is a successful balance of romantic and luxurious lodge and exciting, care-free family adventure.

The four double suites at Tuningi Safari Lodge are spaced well apart and connected by charming elevated wooden walkways. The two family suites, suitably distant from the others, have a central lounge area with two en suite rooms on either side. The design brings the outdoors in with floor-to-ceiling windows, French doors, wrap-around balconies and wonderful open-air showers. For complete privacy, Little Tuningi is a secluded self-contained villa with three double suites, lounge, dining room, kitchen, deck and swimming pool – and the main lodge is also at your disposal.

Achieving a balance that keeps couples and families happy is no small feat. For families, Tuningi Safari Lodge offers a malaria-free safari with a complete children's programme including such lively distractions as game drives (affectionately called bumbles in the industry), games, activities, special meals, baby-sitting and story-telling. But this is no kindergarten: children dine early and, after such a full day's workout, retire early and contented; the suites are secluded and a good distance from one another; the dining room and living areas are large enough to disappear into; and, if you're in the market, Little Tuningi offers total privacy.
