Impodemo Game Lodge is a tranquil and serene safari lodge carved into the hillside in the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa’s North-West Province. Impodimo comprises of eight glass fronted luxury chalets that overlook a natural spring. Each suite enjoys beautiful views and great vistas from the outdoor showers.

The lodge itself has been carefully planned to allow for private relaxation “nooks” and cushioned benches placed around the lodge with spectacular panoramas. A friendly, relaxed atmosphere resonates around the lodge and the natural spring allows for lots of greenery surrounding Impodimo in comparison to the dry African bush surrounds. Enjoy a chilled glass of chardonnay at the pool deck or enjoy a winter safari with a cognac at the fireplace while gazing at the African stars.

Impodimo Game Lodge: Madikwe Game Reserve

The vast area where of the 75 000 hectare Madikwe Game Reserve is situated in the North-West province of South Africa, on the border with Botswana. The large diversity of vegetation and ecozones allows for a rich diversity of game and bird species to inhabit the reserve. The malaria free reserve has mountains that rise from the savannahs and the area is given life from the Marico River.

In addition to Madikwe’s unique topography and breathtaking beauty, the reserve is home to the Big Five, wild dog, cheetah and a large variety of mammal and bird life. Game viewing in an open landrover offers close encounters with Africa’s most revered wildlife. Madikwe is also a bird watchers paradise, with over 350 bird species already recorded in the reserve.

Thakadu River Camp compromises of 12 tented suites set within the riverine canopy along the banks of the Marico River in the eastern sector of the Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe Game Reserve is one of the few reserves in southern Africa, which is malaria free. Thakadu is a wholly-owned community-based lodge.
